Re: How to improve TV newscasts?



I thought the piece was pretty straightforward; the central theme is that you
can't reduce subjective judgments of what constitutes a "good" newscast to
objective measurements.  A similar study in 2000 proclaimed WGME-TV's
morning newscast the best in the country, yet it was dull and amateurish and
ratings were terrible.  What works in Portland and around the country is a slick
presentation and relatable personalities.
