• Somehow I missed an ownership change on the Cape. Ernie Boch is buying WCOD-FM and WUNX/WUNZ-FM not from J.J. Taylor, but from Paul Levesque's Leapfrog Radio. Word is that the deal is worth $2.8 million, and that the stations will eventually move from their current home in Hyannis to Boch's WXTK/WUOK facility on South Sea Ave. in West Yarmouth. The purchase will make Boch the largest broadcast owner on the Cape.

• Over at Emerson College's WERS-FM 88.9, it's Live Music Week, the station's annual fundraiser, and NERW sends its compliments to Cheryl Dechayne, the host of the excellent Saturday program "Standing Room Only." Dechayne raised over $17,000 on her program April 13, which featured guests that included WZLX (ex-WBCN) morning host Charles Laquidara, who's a huge aficianado of the Broadway show tunes played on the show. Donny Osmond, who's in town starring in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," also stopped by to perform and chat for a bit. Dechayne graduates in a few weeks...and she was in tears as she announced the grand total at the end of the show today. As of midday Saturday, 'ERS has raised close to $80,000 during the fundraiser, which started Monday, April 8. WERS station manager Bill Springall tells me the station has a new Web site for your web-surfing pleasure.
