The Prudential Tower

Prudential Tower
Master Antenna (thumbnail) The only other master antenna site in Boston besides the Newton/Needham complex is the Prudential Tower at 800 Boylston Street in the South End. A master FM antenna carries WBOS 92.9, WTKK 96.9, WZLX 100.7, WBCN 104.1, WMJX 106.7, and WXKS-FM 107.9. Atop the master FM antenna is a TV antenna for WBPX 68. LPTVs WCEA-LP and W32AY are located elsewhere on the roof. WERS(FM) 88.9 was located here until it moved to One Financial Place downtown a few years ago. WSBK 38 was located here from sign-on in 1964 (as WIHS) until moving to the UHF Candelabra in 1971. Channel 68 signed on here as WQTV in 1979.

Across Huntington Ave. from the Prudential Center is 116 Huntington Ave., studio location for Entercom's Boston stations, WRKO, WEEI, WEGQ, and WAAF. Lynn-licensed modern rocker WFNX has a Boston translator, W267AI, on the nearby John Hancock Tower. Several blocks south on Huntington is the campus of Northeastern University, home of class-D FM WRBB 104.9.
